A large institutional pharmacy was facing difficulty scaling up without losing quality
and revenue.
Approach
In conjunction with the client, Convene complete3d a detailed analysis of the existing
prescription fulfillment process, associated record keeping and existing systems.
Findings
The pharmacy uses a prescription management system, however, it's use was limited.
Many processes were manual and paper based. Some of the major challenges involved
an inability to manage faxed or emailed scripts. The lack of an inventory system
was putting severe limitations on filling prescriptions.
Solutions
Working with the clinical teams and business leaders, Convene designed a document
management and workflow system to handle all the incoming prescriptions. Convene
also developed a perpetual inventory system which incorporated order and delivery
management. Detailed reports and dashboards gave pharmacy managers real time information
which improved profits and customer satisfaction.
